I won't say much here: Mostly saving to the complete review, but here are the first impressions:

1- The prose is pretty detached from the atmosphere intended, and sounds sometimes too formal (like when the protagonist mauls over his mother's death). Lccorp2 does a very good job in showing, not telling, the prose is depending on the reader to feel, ( Read more... )

I read it, and it was amazing.

Yes, the prose wasn't exactly Lord of the Rings, (something I enjoy to read to understand how it is written--the prose appeals to many) but it was recognizable.

The characters are unmatched. The protagonist--Let this quote say it all:

So, I was one of the people to watch The Black Cauldron when I was a child, and I didn't like it at all; no surprise! It is Disney's most hated movie. It was dark, devoid of music, and there was so much Adaption Decay it might as well be Adaption Rot!
